Belize 2010_15

Madre' had to go to town today to get to the bank before it closed by noon so we were all up and out by 10:30am. Madre' and Padre' went to the bank while we went to get coffee at Sail Away Cafe'. We met them at My Secret Deli for breakfast. After breakfast we went to see about madre's dress she was having made. The lady making it was not there but her husband Pichel the kiter was there. The boys talked kite and Karlene bought a cute little orange dress. We said that we would come back later. We rode south of town to the pink grocery store (we don't know the names we just call them by the color they are) to get some cereal because they sell big bags for cheap. All the other shopping was going to be done at the store north of the bridge so we went for ice cream.

It was about 1:30 and I decided I was going to go to SAGA for their volunteer open house. Matt said that he would go if it wasn't windy. We rode our bikes out to the beach and it was windy so we went our separate ways. I showed up and there was a lady named Lori in one of the doggy areas setting up refreshments. I went in and we got to chatting about the dogs and what not. Two young local girls turned up to walk the dogs but the dog walker that was coming to teach healing techniques was not there yet so they had some punch and a moon pie. One girl looked like she was comfortable around the dogs and the other girl was there just to be with her friend. Well one of the dogs jumped up on the shy girl and she threw her moon pie, wrapper and all and one of the dogs got it and ran. I chased it down and pryed its mouth open and got the moon pie, wrapper and all.

The more comfortable girl left and said she was going to come back and left the shy girl drinking her punch. It had been about 10 mins and the shy girl left and accidentally let one of the dogs out and didn't even notice (or pretended not to notice)! Lori ran after the dog, it didn't go far. The dog walker came by with about 5 dogs that he was walking (when we were walking dogs on the beach he had 7) and made them all sit on the side of the road while all of the SAGA dogs were barking up a storm and came over to Lori and told her that he would be back it a half hour.

I took out my camera and started taking pictures because it didn't look like anyone else was going to show up. There was a lady that came by and looked at all the dogs and picked on to adopt, that was fun to witness. We moved over to the other kennel (the one we walked all the dogs in) and I took pictures of them. The dog walker came by and you could see the respect that the dogs gave him and the love that he gave the dogs. His name was David and I called him "David the Dog whisperer". He laughed and said that he doesn't whisper to them. I ran out of memory and called it a day.

It was about 3:30pm when I headed home. As soon as I hit the beach I could see Karlene kiting up by our place. I was almost home when I came up behind her walking her stuff back to the house. I took her board back for her and decided I needed to update the blog. Matt just came in to get a bigger kite and I launch him. I got one day of the blog updated and went out to join him for a sunset session. We were both perfectly powered and having a great time showing off for madre' and some local guy fishing at the end of our dock. Matt noticed a squall moving in and the sun had already gone down so we decided to call it a night.

We made BLT's for dinner and I got back to updating the blog while the rest played a game of canasta.
