Belize 2010_10

The wind finally woke us up today around 8am Matt was up and out in a flash. I was next and then dad. The wind was pretty strong we were on our 10/12m and it was coming from the East, very onshore. Karlene took pictures for us while we "tested the water", she did great I'm very proud. I had some issues getting used to the 10 meter landings but had some of my highest jumps. Matt was getting Gorge style air and one too many close calls, shame shame. Dad had no problems and then we saw Jay coming up reef to join us. We all went out to one of the openings in the reef near us and played in the swell and waves. Matt and Jay went outside the reef and I left it to them. My toe was starting to cramp so I rode the swell all the way home, very fun. Matt had told Karlene to get her 7m ready and I got in just in time. She was all ready, caught me and I launched her.

The wind direction couldn't of been more perfect for her because just north of us the shore curves inland so she body drug out towards the reef and had so much room to play. It was like night and day for her with the bow kite vs. c kite! She was ripping it up going up wind. I got a few pictures and then dad asked for a land. As soon as I got back out to the end of the dock to get more pictures Matt said he was done and came in, thankfully dad was ready to land him and I could stay and take more pictures. Karlene took a couple more tacks and called it good. We were all "stoked" about our great session. Matt called Jay when we were all done cleaning up and we decided to meet up and go to My Secret Deli for lunch.

After lunch J&G took off to do their own thing while we got our grocery shopping done. We planned on meeting up at the Road Kill Bar for a jam session but that got canceled due to most of the band members going to the memorial service for Mr. Bowen. On our way home we stopped off to see Weni the half beagle half wiener dog. He was so sweet and all he wanted to do was kiss you and if you stood up he would bark until you gave him more love. When we got home we vegged out, great day.
