Belize 2015_7

 Daddy and Daughter fun!
I guess it would be Daddy, Daughter, Grand Son.  Three generations on the water!
Local bait fisherman scoping the docks for schools of fish.
Katina coming in from a session.
The Son, in the Sun!  Or is that a beached whale.
Katina giving Jane an SUP lesson in the shallow's.
 And away we go.
Birdie leaving the nest.  Tried to get a great "fall in the water" photo.  No such luck, it didn't happen.
Katina's first flight of her PINK kite she was so adamant about the color!
Les leaning way back to get through the shallows.
 Our launch.
Sandy trails.  No more Sargasso seaweed.  Smells and looks better out there!
Wide open flats.  Katina loves kiting with her little BUN. Baby "Z".
You could see that bubble from the Hubble.  Stickin way out now at 8 months (33weeks).
 Cruisin for a ........
 Bruisin!
 Awesome water color today.
As many of you know we love our outdoor shower at our house in Brier.
Had to make one here in Belize.  In the shade of a Banana and next to a Pineapple.

Little update on wind conditions here for the wind junkies.  First two weeks was 11 for 14.  Couple awesome 9m days and an 11m day the rest were 13m days.  Second two weeks started out great but has been light the last week.  So second two week stats, 5 of 14 days.  Couple great 13m days and a couple light ones the rest have been SUP days.  We have two weeks left to get our wind fix forecast looks to be back in order.

One more comment about wind in Belize.  We have a friend that was gonna travel here this year but was a bit leery of the wind dependability.  Zach if you see this you made the right choice going to Colombia the ten days you would have been here you would have gotten 4 days; two good big kite; two mediocre big kite.  So glad it didn't happen this year but hope to see your family down here one year.  You would have been here during the worst section of our trip.

Had some great SUP experiences this last week.  Paddled out to the reef where I've been consistently seeing these little squid all lit up.  Pretty small at 6-12 inches but so fun to watch with their big silver eye's and little wings.  I've never seen 'em in the past so fun to see them this year.  On the way back we decided to paddle up in the "CUT' which is the break in the reef with much deeper water.  As we paddled we were talking and I mentioned we hadn't seen dolphin in a couple years.  Not more that ten seconds later there they were as if they heard us and said "we've been here you haven't been looking".  Great experience.  Then I laid down on the SUP, put my snorkel on and watched the underwater life pass me by as the current brought us back to the house.

I can't keep my hands away from gardening for two long so a a while ago I started a pineapple plant that is doing super.  Maybe when we come back next year I can have a harvest.  Also got my hands on a mango seeds so I'm gonna start those soon.

One last thing to add is that the break in the wind came at just the right time as I went down for the count (with my back).  Was in bed for a day and walking with a cane for a couple days.  Now I'm back riding bikes doing some Physical Therapy and should be kiting soon.  Amazing how strong I can be one second and a cripple the next.  The human body is still a mystery!
